So...Podcast delay

Give you guys a heads up.  Tim has a tornado in his area.  We can't reliably record right now, so we will record this at a later date.

We're going for a sleeker, sexier, faster and shorter podcast this time.  We got a different portion in lue of the interview this week, proud to announce that its finally done, but we'll leave it as a surprise until it comes out.

We could record this right now, but you'll hear our voices being "digital-like."  So....pray that Tim survives the tornado, and we will have this podcast up soon as we can.

Sorry for the delay, its worth it.

New Podcast due up this week, and other news

Chris (Tabasco Cat) is working on getting our challenge with UPEO this week, we wish our members luck in that round.  I am sure you gents will not disappoint.

I have been working on the next podcast that is due up this Saturday, hopefully I can wrangle an interview in, but here's hoping.

In other news:

-The website is still getting worked on, but the new layout has yet to give us any bumps, so it looks like smooth sailing right now.

-Just a note...my father has decided to join us on the website, and something made me put him to S&S user status.  Do not pay him any heed :D.  Kidding dad, its great to have you here, shows you must truly be bored with your retirement.

-I did a project for my Physics class here at Xavier, we had to work with Light and camera work.  I decided to convince my teacher to let me use Halo 3 for the dynamics and light capturing photo work.  He must have been drunk, because he let me do it.  I'll keep you guys updated on that when I am able, but he told me to expect a good grade, I guess he really drinks a lot.  If all goes well, I will Email Bungie about this, they might want to have a laugh.

-I watched Man on Fire last night, the movie with Denzel Washington playing former CIA agent John Creasy.  I cannot begin to describe how awesome I think this movie is.  Also saw Slumdog Millionare.  It was cute, but I think too much bleeding heart liberal sympathy went into nominating this movie for the best picture.  It deserved the nod, but I do not believe it deserved the win.  Regardless, it was a fantastic movie.  I'm a movie fan, so I watch a lot, and as I've told a few of my friends, my goal is to watch the movie "300," three hundred times.  Seen it 78 times.  Iron Man is at 12.  When Captain America shows up, its gonna be even more.

-I spent several hours writing up background information for our little project we've been working on.  It is hard trying to figure names and locations out of thin air.  Too hard to be original, how artists do it, I shall never know.

-also spent several hours sending Emails out for podcast interview requests.  What is it with people that post Emails up, and then never reply?  I mean, sure, there is a volume, but to simply ignore is unprofessional.  A simple yes or no is all I ask.  Perhaps it is my drive for communication that irks me.  We sit in an age that demands less talking more informing (hence silly Twitter feed to the right here...) and I make the effort to message by Email (as it is the given standard, over regular mail), and I can never receive a simple reply.  Perhaps if I mail them multiple times, but that is just being foolish.

With that.  I am off to breakfast, then sit in class and wonder why I need a degree for bullshitting (marketing).  Only kidding, I value the things I learn here, and cannot wait to see what the real world brings.  S&S is showing me a good amount of it every day.

Win against the ACES

Hey guys, good game against the ACES Squadron

From SAAM I AM:

-"Elite"

-"Im an Ace"

-"Im decorated"

-"Ace Combat Elite"

-"I shoot you down...Its just what I do"

-"Terrell Owens of Ace Combat"

-"We're talking mad crap today"

-"We're talking the baddest Squad in Ace Combat 6"

-"Im out to help the community"

-"If you think your good, come on out"

-"We'll play you....we'll smoke ya.  That's just what we're about"

-"[To S&S] If you can get an 8 man team together, lets Rock and roll [laughter from both parties, then a bit of head pumping.]  Oh right, giggity giggity."

From AcetheViper:

-"Good dudes that didnt disrespect other squadrons"

-"We're Aces"

-"Im one of the best on the game"

-"You ain't gonna beat us, no"

 The Results:

Round 1:

ACES: 54,020

S&S: 48,690

ACES employed 3 SAAMers, 2 XLAA users and 3 QAAMers to hit S&S from multiple directions, by which they were successful.  ACES was disqualified from the match due to one pilot for using the Idolmaster F-14D. S&S used 6 QAAMers, 1 XMA6 user and 1 SAAMer to use speed and precision to an advantage.  Omegagrayknight of the ACES was host.  Junkers Hiryu lost connection 6 minutes into the round, the drop was a non-issue.

Round 2:

S&S: 63,370

ACES: 50,070

S&S decided to quit fooling around and went after the SAAM users.  ACES suppressed S&S SAAMers, but to no avail.  S&S changed its game to 6 QAAMers and 2 SAAMers.  This round was hosted by Brickster1 of the Sins & Saints.  No player dropped out.

Due to the first round disqualification, ACES had formally lost the challenge.  Unfortunately, they decided to argue the results, going to far as to call the Sins & Saints cowards and claimed that S&S was “hiding behind the rules.”  ACES countered that their user had indeed used a Zipang F-14D, though proven images show that the ACES member had used an Idolmaster.

Incident picture:

Actual Zipang F-14 for comparison.

Even after the several insults, S&S had initially agreed to play ACES squadron, even after the various insults and reckless behavior.  Due to the rules, the lowest scoring member of the entire match decided the host.  Blackalice1 was that user, and SAAM I AM hosted.

Round 3:

No score due to drop out.

SAAM I AM hosted due to prearranged rules.  The entire 16 player group was dropped at 2 minutes, with S&S substantially leading at the time of the drop.  Due to the rules, ACES again forfeit to the Sins & Saints.  SAAM I AM was talked to on no less than 3 occasions that his connection could not satisfy the requirements for 16 players, and he relented, claiming that he runs on a T1 connection.  Personal observation, SAAM I AM has been unable to host 10 players in a single room.

The matter was dropped, and though S&S was rightfully able to host the next round, ACES refused to play unless they hosted.  S&S agreed for the sake of playing three rounds.

Round 4:

S&S: 52,180

ACES: 45,490

S&S used 5 QAAMers, 1 XMA6 user (accidentally) and 2 SAAMers.  ACES employed 2 SAAMers, 1 XLAA users and 5 QAAM users.  The fight was back and forth, close the entire time until S&S destroyed the entirty of the ACES squadron within a matter of seconds.  They continued to suppress the SAAM users while maintaining the lead.

Overall, S&S wins the challenge due to 2 disqualification, as well as score.

Score:

S&S: 164,240

ACES: 149,580

Welcome to the new Site guys!

 Well...

after about 6 and a half hours of working with F22_Fan here, we got this website up and running.  Now, do realize we aren't completely done, but for the most part, this website is set up.  We've yet to add the podcast list as well as individual member bios, but I'm tired and I want to go to sleep.

Hop around, check things out and enjoy the new site.  We'll format stuff to make it look prettier as we decide that something doesnt look cool enough, but I think we have a heck of a solid website.

To show you around, we have the background info, our individual teams, our members and command structure, as well as FAQs for new players, then our podcast lineup with direct link to the iTunes store, and then a contact area for all inquires on the site.

You can find the forums link on the side, and I have a team twitter account set up, because I thought it would be nifty.

Again, we couldnt have any of this without Mr. Liberatore.  When you guys get the chance, hit him up with a PM or find him on XBL, he helped us out tremendously.
