No this isnt a screenshot from the last Saints practice (zing!!). The crash happened at Lethbridge County Airport in Alberta Canada, while prepping for an Airshow. No details yet on what exactly happened, just that the pilot was fine after a short stay at the hospital.

All jokes aside, props to the pilot for a quick eject. Things could have been a lot worse.

The purpose of the Super Taikyu (Super Endurance) series is to demonstrate the speed and durability of, what are essentially road going vehicles. Divided into five classes, the goal of Super Taikyu from a competition standpoint is to allow racers the ability to always race. Whether the car-driver combination is competitive with those in its class is not the sole concern. In Taikyu there has always been a blend of the five classes to allow for cars that might have slower drivers, or which are built to a slower specification, to have competition. Similarly skilled drivers or quicker cars generally have a class above to race with. ST2-ST4 cars find themselves racing amongst one another, whereas ST1 and ST5 are more traditional classes, meaning, certainly in the case of ST1, they usually compete amongst themselves only. ST1 cars are purpose built, FIA GT3 styled racing machines, which provide close racing action. ST5, the other “traditional” class, are FIA Super 2000 based touring cars, which by nature, provide close competitive racing in the slowest Taikyu environment. ST2-ST4 are showroom stock racing machines with minimal modifications to allow them to perform on a racing circuit and at the same time be safe. Because of the limits on ST2-ST4 modifications, the result is mixed class racing.

General Class Breakdown:

ST1: Cars with engines 3501cc and greater. Production derived, full fledged racing machines. Drive train is open. Forced induction is legal if factory stock, or in an attempt to equalize the cars. For our purposes (as the following cannot be changed in GT4), driver position, engine location and drive must remain stock. Engine capacity may be increased to allow for cars to enter the class (e.g. Nissan Skyline.)

ST2: Cars with engines 2001cc-3500cc. Modified production cars. Cars must be 4WD and equipped with forced induction from the factory. The following must remain stock, driver position, engine location, drive train and engine capacity.

ST3: Cars with engines 2001cc-3500cc. Modified production cars. FWD and RWD are welcome. Engines must remain in stock position but rear, middle and front engine configurations are legal. Four wheel drive (4WD or AWD) is legal so long as the car does not use forced induction.

ST4: Cars with 2001cc and less. Modified production cars. Must be front wheel drive(FWD). Engine position must remain stock. Front engine-front wheel drive configuration is mandatory.

ST5: Cars with 2001cc and less. Modified production cars. FWD and RWD are welcome. Engines must remain in stock position and only front engine configuration is legal.

Super Taikyu Series Technical Regulations

Engine:

ST1-ST5 All Superchargers, N/A Stages and Turbo Stages are legal. Assuming of course the competitor stays within the horsepower range for the given class and, at it’s very fastest the car makes lap times in the given range. For cars that COME WITH TURBOS FROM THE FACTORY, intercoolers are open.

ST1-ST5 Forced induction (turbo chargers / super chargers) are to be installed on factory N/A cars ONLY to equalize performance. In that event, NO INTERCOOLER MAY BE INSTALLED!

ST1 Cars must use Exhaust & Air Filer: Racing.

ST2 Cars must use Exhaust & Air Filter: Sports.

ST3, ST4 Cars may use Sports or Sports exhausts. I.e. ST3, ST4 may not use Racing exhausts.

ST5 Cars must use Exhaust & Air Filter: Street.

*Do to the heavy restrictions on tuning, yet the comparative openness for competitors to construct cars, cars will be tuned differently to produce similar results. If your car cannot match up because of a serious deficiency of horsepower and one cannot use forced induction or complete an N/A tuning stage, PM one of the race directors for help.

Transmission and Drive train:

Transmissions for ST1, ST3, and ST4 are open.

ST2, ST5 must use stock transmission.

ST1-ST5 All drive train components, Clutch, Flywheel, and LSD’s are open. LSD is restricted slightly to 1-way, 1.5-way and 2-way.

*Cars that are unable to install LSD, e.g. Toyota Chaser, can use level of 1 on the TCS scale if the competitor deems it necessary.

Brakes:

Racing brakes must be used in ST1.

Classes ST2-ST5: racing brakes are illegal.

Body Work / Wings and Miscelanious:

All cars ST1-ST5 that are able to install a wing in Forza 3, must have a wing. Type of wing used is open.

ST1-ST5 MUST use a roll cage.

Weight reduction options are limited. All cars ST1, ST3-ST5 will be built to certain kg (as well as horsepower) standards outlined on the car list.

ST2 class vehicles may perform weight reduction stage 1 as class rules dictate a certain, very particular similarity to their road going brothers.

Suspension:

Full Customize Suspensions must be used ST1-ST4.

ST5 may use either Sports or Semi-Racing Suspensions.

Tires:

ST1-ST5 A racing slick tire must be used. The tires will be chosen depending on the event. Each race thread will show it's coordinating week's tire.

There were at least 2 MP's per 22, and if you were caught looking at them for more then 10 minutes you were asked to move on, LOL. These didn't fly during the show but I got to see them fly in on Friday before the show.

EA-18G Growler:

I got to monitor/guard this early Sunday morning, awesome.

We got to escort this out to the parking ramp for the aircraft performing for the show, so beautiful up close. The pilot's were pretty cool too.

L-39 Albatros "Patriots" Demo Team:

Aside from all of this, I got a free challenge coin, got to talk with a lot of Pilots and Loadmasters, and got an autograph from an A-10 pilot. All in all, it was awesome...plus the show was incredible. I'll post up some footage I took when I get it all compiled into one video.

I was on base with CAP, we stayed the night in the Air Force's 10 year old tents, we had duty details so some of these pictures were taken as we were walking to our next duty station. I had a lot of fun and earned myself some time in the C-17 Simulator on base, along with at least 15-20 more hours of community service.

Hitler in Argentina after WW2?

Hey guys, figured I'd post here since most of your are a bit open minded and willing to read this post without getting overly stupid about it. Anyways, as the subject states I was wondering if any of you caught the episode on the Discovery Channel tonight about Hitler being in Argentina after the war?

They showed documents where the German Government paid for and built a hotel on a lake in Argentina. It had a fully functioning hospital, barracks for the staff, living quarters etc. All the stuff you would expect of a hotel. Except of course that nobody was ever allowed to register as a guest or spend time there. Even after the war when it was operating it wasn't open. The locals in the area new the people spoke German, but that was about all they knew. (of those they interviewed).

The hotel closed in 1962, shortly after a flood devestated the building and then it was completely shut down and those that were there (according to the locals) just left. They didn't stay, they just left. Then the rumors of "Hitler" being there came about. Of course nobody knows for sure. But those rumors came about from locals that described a man they had seen on the balcony, or on the shore of the lake occasionally. They also said this man was no longer seen around the time the hotel closed. Since his appearance gave them the idea it may have been Hitler, they believe he must have died and since he was dead the hotel didn't need to exist anymore. Hence the reason for it's closure and abandonment.

Then they (the people on the show) flew to Russia and interviewed some Russian Government historical staff, then viewed and was allowed to take a sample of the supposed Hitler Skull that was recovered from Berlin and is said to be Hitler's remains. The DNA test showed it to be female, as did the Russian's own test. So it's now believed that the skull in Russia isn't Hitlers but maybe Eva's? Of course the Russians maintain that Hitler died in Berlin and so do the Allied powers of the day, but who knows.

My thoughts on it are this... Since the DNA test says the skull was female and no other remains are known to exist. Could it have been possible for him to go to Argentina and live out his days in exile? I mean anything is possible, but this guy was absolutely hated and with good reason. I find it hard to believe that the Allied powers wouldn't have had an inkling of this and did something about it. It's pretty well known the Argentine/German link post WW2. Heck, after WW2 the Argentine's had the most advanced aircraft in the west next to the United States. And it's also well known that many German "Nazi's" escaped (or is believed to have escaped) to Argentina.

iono - fishy, but kinda plausible. My guess is this hotel may have been home to some Nazi guys the Allies (America) may have wanted kept alive in order to get intelligence etc., and in return they got to spend their days there.

Anyways, it was a really interesting show and just wondered if any of you caught it and what you may have thought about the show.
